Cilla Black has said that she feels she would like to die at the age of 75 witch is only four years away because she’s 71!
Cilla said that she wants to die so she doesn’t suffer just like her mother did before she passed away.
In a interview with The Mirror the former Blind Date presenter said:
‘Seventy-five is a good age to go, I still think that way. If things are starting to drop off – like the hearing – and I’ve got twinges in the morning, I do think that.’
‘I don’t want to be a burden on anybody. I know 75 is only four years away but I take each day as I find it.’
Cillas mother passed away from progressive bonds disease osteoporosis and sadly it was a painful end and Cilla doesn’t want to go that way!
She the stared talking about her mother and said:
‘Eventually she did die when she was 84. It wasn’t a good experience. I think that’s what made me feel like this. My biggest fear is going like that when I can’t control my body.’
‘She said to me once, “I’m trying to die but I can’t.” Oh God, it was heart-breaking. The brain was great but the body wasn’t.’
Cillia dosent suffer from the disease thankfully so she doesn’t need to worry really.
Yesterday on ITV’s Loose Women Cilla Balck appeared on the show as a guest panellist.
During her time on the show she was asked about losing her beloved husband Bobby Willis, and just as his name was mentioned she burst out into tears as it appeared the greg was too much.
Cilla now has been told that she is to be awarded a BAFTA for her time in the entertainment industry and Cilla got upset because Bobby is no longer here to see her acept the award.
Bobby passed away 15 years ago from cancer and she said that she feels ‘bitter sweet’ about the awards because of this reason.
Panelist Jane Moore said:
‘You must want to be able to say, “Bobby, look what I’ve got, look what we got together”.’
And that’s when she started crying.
She’s been on our scenes for years and years now.
But all that work in showbiz has payed off because for Cilla Black because she is set to receive a BAFTA award for outstanding contribution to entertainment!
Over the years the 70-year-old has hosted popular shows like Surprise Surprise and Blind Date and has had a very successful career.
Other people to have received this award include Simon Cowell, Jon Snow, Murray Walker and Jeremy Paxman.
Talking about the award Cilla said:
‘I am thrilled to be honoured with this award – I am totally delighted.
‘I’ve been very fortunate to have a long and full career in television and this means the world to me.’
She will collect her award at the Arqiva British Academy Television Awards – on May 18 at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, in London and it will also be broadcast by BBC1.
The other week we told you about Holly Willoughby and how she has said that she’s ‘broody’ for child number 3 but now she has said that she will take lots more time off work after she gives birth!
Talking about being broody Holly said:
‘Oh, I’m always broody. Always broody!’
That never changes. With every year that goes by, I love it more and more. I definitely want more, but it’s just when it’s the right time – I’ve got to make sure of that.
‘Of everything in my life, it’s being a mum and having a family that makes me happiest and feel most like myself.’
When Holly gave birth to her son, Harry, she had five weeks off and when she had her daughter she had five months off but now she has said she want lots more time off for baby number three!
‘I want to do it properly and take a lot of time off, you know?’ she tells Fabulous Magazine.
‘I think I’ve lost that sense of: “Right, now you need to get back to work!” I’d like to be at home with the baby, not even thinking about work for a good chunk.’
Her co-host Philip Schofield won’t be happy as every time she aid about having another baby on the show he makes a face to the camera lol.
Cilla Black is to join Holly Willoughby for the last show in the series of Surprise Surprise 12 years after she hosted the show!
Cilla’s return to the show has just come in time as she celebrated 50 years in showbusiness recently!
Black has takes before about how excited she was to go back on the show and she said about how Holly makes such a good job of the show.
Cilla Black is currently celebrating 50 years in showbusiness and one way she wanted to celebrate it was staring on UK soap Coronation Street.
Cilla’s dream has came true and it’s all that’s to her good friend Paul O’Grady as she filmed a scene with in the Rovers Return with characters Rita and Norris.
But Black could have lived her dream of being on the show a few years ago as back in 2010 Cilla was offered a role on the show but she turned it down due to long working hours.
Talking to the Daily Mirror Black told them:
‘They have asked me to join the show,’
It’s not their first approach – they have asked me several times. I love Corrie, but I keep saying no.’
‘I couldn’t cope with all the hours they do, they work them like dogs. It’s really hard work.’
‘It would be nice to do a cameo, but even Ian McKellen worked long hours when he did it for a while. If the role was right, I would do a one-off thing.’
The short clip of her on Corrie will air tonight on her 50th anniversary special on ITV.
