Shakira Talks About Angelina Jolie’s Decision To Announce Her Surgery!
Lots of celebrity have been talking about Angelina Jolie over the last few days after she announced that she had a double mastectomy but one person who has just showed her love is Shakira.
The singer said:
“I think she’s such a smart woman and what she’s doing is inspiring so many women out there to make educated decisions, and I commend her for that.”
The support for Jolie has been overwhelming as she has trended on Twitter for the last two days with people showing their support for the actress.
Angelina Jolie’s Dad Found Out About His Daughters Double Mastectomy Online!
Angelina Jolie told the world yesterday that she had undergone a double mastectomy after finding out she had an increased risk of breast cancer.
But one person who had to find out with the whole world is Angelina’s father Jon Voight.
The actress never let her father know about the operation that she underwent but we have no clue why.
He said:
“My love and admiration for my daughter can’t be explained in words. I saw her two days ago with my son Jamie. We all got together for his birthday, with her and Brad. But I didn’t know. It wasn’t obvious at all.”
“I found out this morning. I was as surprised as anyone and deeply moved by the way she’s handled this. She’s a very extraordinary person, the way she examined it and what she shared.”
Jon went on in saying that he ’understands’ why she decided to have kept the news private until now as he said:
“I completely understand. I want the focus to be on the inspiration. She just explained to me and educated me on this stuff.”
“Having witnessed this decision first-hand, I find Angies choice, as well as so many others like her, absolutely heroic. I thank our medical team for their care and focus. All I want is for her to have a long and healthy life, with myself and our children. This is a happy day for our family.”
Brad Pitt’s Mum Is Really Proud Of Angelina Jolie
With the world showing their support of Angelina Jolie after she announced that she had a double mastectomy one person who is very proud is Brad Pitt’s mum Jane Pitt.
This is what she had to say:
“We’re so very proud of Angie. This means so much to our family especially our grandchildren. We love her dearly.”
Angelina’s brother, James is just as proud as Jane as he said:
“Like our mother [Marcheline Bertrand, who lost her battle to ovarian cancer in 2007] always put her children first, I am so grateful to be her brother.”
Angelina has been trending on Twitter for two days solid now with loads of support from members of the public showing their support.
Brad Pitt Responds About Angelina Jolie’s Double Mastectomy
We told you this morning about Angelina Jolie‘s decision to have a double mastectomy after she found out that she has a high chance of getting breast cancer.
Now her husband Brad Pitt has spoke out about her decision:
“Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie’s choice, as well as so many others like her, absolutely heroic. I thank our medical team for their care and focus. All I want for is for her to have a long and healthy life, with myself and our children. This is a happy day for our family.”
It was clear that it was not easy making that decision but it look like her family are supporting her 100%.
Angelina Jolie Has Double Mastectomy As She Has A High Chance Of Getting Breast Cancer
Angelina Jolie has revealed that she has undergone a double mastectomy after she found out she has a high change of developing breast cancer.
The actress wrote an article in the New York times talking about the decision that she made after she found out she had the BRCA1 cancer gene that meant she had she had the BRCA1 cancer gene
She said:
“My doctors estimated that I had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer, although the risk is different in the case of each woman.
“Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy.
“I started with the breasts, as my risk of breast cancer is higher than my risk of ovarian cancer, and the surgery is more complex.
“On April 27, I finished the three months of medical procedures that the mastectomies involved. During that time I have been able to keep this private and to carry on with my work.”
“I can tell my children that they don’t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer.
“It is reassuring that they see nothing that makes them uncomfortable. They can see my small scars and that’s it. Everything else is just Mommy, the same as she always was.“I am fortunate to have a partner, Brad Pitt, who is so loving and supportive. So to anyone who has a wife or girlfriend going through this, know that you are a very important part of the transition.
“Brad was at the Pink Lotus Breast Center, where I was treated, for every minute of the surgeries. We managed to find moments to laugh together.
“ We knew this was the right thing to do for our family and that it would bring us closer. And it has.”
Anderson Cooper’s Talk Show Cancelled!
It has been announced that Anderson Cooper’s chat show has came to an end.
The shows contract comes to an end soon at the shows network are NOT renewing it.
The show did not get as many views as CNN would like so they have decided to end the chat show.
Anderson released this statement saying:
I am very proud of the work that our terrific staff has put into launching and sustaining our show for two seasons. I am also grateful to Telepictures for giving me the opportunity, and indebted to viewers, who have responded so positively. I look forward to doing more great shows this season, and though I’m sorry we won’t be continuing, I have truly enjoyed it.
