Billie Joe Armstrong Talks About Getting Sober!
After a decade of substance abuse Billie Joe Armstrong has changed his life around for the better and now he has talked out about it.
This is what he had to say:
“I was going through withdrawal. That was gruesome, laying on the bathroom floor and just feeling like… I didn’t realize how much that stuff affected me. And it’s not the stuff that is immediately in your system. It goes back to how long you’ve been using. It was working its way out.
I was going through so much sh*t. Even in the second week, I was like, ‘I don’t belong here. I’m not convinced.’ The sick part of it is I wanted to get all of the narcotics out of my system so I could start drinking. But that’s the insanity of the whole thing. You make excuses. You rationalize. You can take a sh*t in a mailbox — that doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do.”
“I kept it away from my sons pretty good. My dogs kept looking at me, wondering how I’m doing. They can sense that stuff. I could have gone to a facility, but this way I could be around my loved ones.”
But one of the hardiest things for Armstrong was going back on tour as he cancelled loads of dates due to the substance abuse and avoiding temptation:
“Sometimes I’m not sure I’m ready. There is still the obsession for alcohol. There’s also sleepless nights. But I have to work on it every day. Because I know what goes on out there. I’m hosting this giant party for people. At least 70-75 percent of the people in the audience have been getting a drink on. I’ve got to watch my step.”
Billie Joe Talks About His Addiction To Drugs
Billie Joe Armstrong is not 100% yet but he’s on the way to a full receovery.
In March issue of Rolling Stone, the Green Day‘s frontman talked about his addiction and how alcohol and prescription drugs took over his life. He also talked about his meltdown at the iHeartRadio festival in Sin City last september.
This is what he had to say:
“I couldn’t predict where I was going to end up at the end of the night. I’d wake up in a strange house on a couch. I wouldn’t remember how. It was a complete blackout.
I remember tiny things. The next morning, I woke up. I asked [my wife] Adrienne, ‘How bad was it?’ She said, ‘It’s bad.’ I called my manager. He said, ‘You’re getting on a plane, going back to Oakland and going into rehab immediately.’”
His drug addiction was taking over his life and making him say funny things as he even shouted out to the aduience while he was on stage ”I’m not fucking Justin Bieber, you motherf*ckers,”.
Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong Shows His Love For Fans And Gives Some Good News!?
It’s not been the best of years for Billie Joe Armstrong, but by what he said in his thank you letter to his fans it looks like it’s going to get better in 2013.
In the message that Billie posted on the bands website he announced that the group will be going on tour late on in 2013 and also thanked fans for all the supports after the bad year Armstrong has sad.
On Sunday the singer posted the following message below:
Green Day Producers Hint That They May Have To Cancel More Dates Of Their Tour
Rob Cavallo the producer of Green Day has hinted that the group might have to cancel some more tour dates due to Billie Joe Armstrong’s stint in rehab.
You may know that the singer was taken to rehab last month after he admitted his addiction to drugs.
Warner Bros Records has worked with the band before and has spoke to Rolling Stone and said:
“His rehab is no joke. He’s under medical supervision for a while to get him clean.”
“His doctors are still evaluating. All I can say is I don’t know if we’ll see him before or after Christmas. It’s basically undetermined when he’ll be back.”

A we told you yesterday about Green Day frontman Billy Joe Armstrong was taken to rehab after having a meltdown at the iHeartRadio event. But now it’s been said that it will not effect his appearance on The Voice.
The good new is The Voice appearance was filmed back in the summer as it was settled with Christina Aguilera‘s team.

Billie Joe Armstrong has booked himself in to rehab after he broke down at the iHeartRadio event!
The Green Day frontman went mad after he was told that his band would be cut short as Usher could perform longer.
After going mad, breaking his guitar and slagging Justin Bieber off it’s been said that he is trying to change his ways.
Billie went to rehab for drug abuse as his rep gave the following statement:
Green day wants to apologize to those they offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas.
The band regretfully must postpone some of their upcoming promotional appearances.
