Back in 2012 it was said that Amy Winehouse‘s father Mitch Winehouse was going to have a statue made for his late daughter to remember her where she lived in Camden, London.
The artist who is going to make the statue Scott Eaton has said that he has been tasked with recreating the singer’s likeness and has promised that it WILL look liker her.
this is what he said:
“She’s going to be installed on the balcony in the Roundhouse [Theatre] in the Camden area, because Camden is her home where she lived. So she’s kind of looking back towards Camden Town from the balcony.
So it’s not going to be…cheesy. She’s not with a microphone or anything like that. It’s going to be kind of natural, if you will, as if she was up there on the balcony, looking back towards home.”
“There’s a lot of artistic decisions that I have to make, but you know, they’re just going to be there—it’s Mitch’s daughter, so we want him to be happy and we want her family and close friends and relatives to all kind of say, ‘That’s definitely Amy.’”
Lana Del Rey ‘believes in Amy Winehouse!
The Blue jeans singer has talked about the late Amy recently saying:
“I believe in Amy Winehouse. I know she’s not with us anymore but I believe she was who she was and in that way she got it right,” Lana shared with Fashion magazine.
“I would say an actress like Lauren Bacall also got it right. She never let anyone [persuade] her to be something she wasn’t. She was strong. She always looked like she knew what she was doing.”
Amy Winehouse’s Dad Is Not Happy With The André 3000′s Contribution To His & Beyoncé’s Cover Of Back To Black!
On Saturday we told you about André 3000 and Beyonce covered Amy Winehouse‘s Back To Black and it sounded really good but not everyone agrees.
Amy’s father Mitch Winehouse has said that he like’s the Beyonce parts but not Andre 3000′s!.
When Mitch heard the tune he tweeted on Twitter:
I just heard the Andre part of Back to Black. Terrible. He should have let Beyonce do it all. Mitch
I like Beyonces cover and have no probs. monies received will help lots of kids. She can do another cover if she wants. We need the money!
We have to say the cover would have been better if Bey would have sang all the song but she clearly wanted Andre on the tune too.
Beyonce has decided to take the song that made Amy Winehouse famous Back To Black.
The singer has taken on the iconic song with André 3000 and it’s a really good version of the tune.
Sadly we will never know what Amy thinks of the new version but someone’s opinion who we want to hear is Mark Ronson, as he co-writer and produced the song.
Mark has now spoke about Bey and Andre 3000 version and said:
“It’s a wonderful…take on our song. I’m flattered and honored, I know Amy would be too.”
Have a listen above.
It’s nearly been two years since singer Amy Winehouse passed away but now it look’s like we are going to see a side to her that we have never seen before.
A filmmaker called Asif Kapadia has teamed up with producer James Gay-Reesand Universal Music to put together a documentary about the late singer and they will sell it at this year’sCannes Film Festival!
Back in 2010 the pair worked together and they siad that they are excited to be working together again.
This is what has been said:
“Amy was a once-in-a-generation talent who captured everyone’s attention; she wrote and sung from the heart, and everyone fell under her spell. But tragically, Amy seemed to fall apart under the relentless media attention, her troubled relationships, her global success and precarious lifestyle. As a society we celebrated her huge success, but then we were quick to judge her failings when it suited us.”
There is not much news about the film so we will just have to wait and see when more new’s does come out.
It’s been released today that Amy Winehouse died from alcohol poisoning!
The singer drank herself to death watching Youtube videos of herself and was five times over the legal driving limit.
Amy was said to have drank so much vodka she stopped breathing on July 23, 2011.
Today Coroner Dr Shirley Radcliffe has released a stament saying:
‘The toxicology analysis revealed a level of alcohol commonly associated with fatality’, she said.
‘I am satisfied on the balance of probability Amy Winehouse voluntarily consumed alcohol.
‘It was a deliberate act which took an unexpected turn in that it led to her death.’
